Torrent Freak and Wired released US history news as the largest bittorent sue fest case yet has arrived. Have you downloaded that terrible movie Expendables with bittorent? Well you could be one of the 23,000 IP’s ISP’s got subpoenaed for personal information recently. At first it was thought that only 6500 IP’s would be presented but to the courts surprise 23000 IP’s arrived. Judge Gladys Kessler allowed for the record 23,000 IP’s to be subpoenaed in Washington D.C. Oh you want to fight it but live in another state? Well is that a shame because it seems judges do not care or it is not brought to their attention.
I hope Comcast and the other ISP’s are ready to give out ALL of their customers personal information and make no one want to stay in business with them when word gets around they do this and people get sued or settlement letters. This is what happens when you do not fight and try to protect your customers ISP’s take note. So far only Time Warner tries to even fight these subpoenas. Comcast does not care and maybe Att.
Thomas M. Dunlap from Dunlap Grubb & Weaver a.k.a the US Copyright Group is the head of this witch hunt lawsuit. Many other cases are handled by the US Copyright Group too. Check out the court documents below and links to the Electronic Frontier Foundation that tries to protect people from this but are too busy to help heh. Internet privacy is being attacked by Copyright Trolls and needs protection. For those that cannot afford lawyers what hope is there in this money making scheme? Other cases have involved porn and some may be scared to fight back. Some judges are not protecting the citizens.
RULE #1 DO NOT FEED THE TROLL OR THE COMPANIES
Rule #2 DO NOT CONTACT THE COMPANY TRYING TO SUE YOU OR SUBPOENA YOUR ISP
RULE #3 DO NOT MOTION TO QUASH AN ISP SUBPOENA WITH YOUR REAL NAME WITHOUT SEALING THE DOCUMENTS SO OTHERS CANNOT SEE YOUR MOTION TO QUASH AS THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT YOUR NAME.
