Is there no hope for humanity? More cases were brought up in Texas and California over the last couple of days. The one that is most shocking would be from FUNimation Entertainment again. They are an anime licensing company. Pacific Century International appears to be a TV company and Boy Racer is like we have stated in the past an adult company. Brett Langdon Gibbs of Steele Hansmeier and Ellis L. Bennett of Dunlap Grubb & Weaver filed these lawsuits. Both have been known to be incompetent and pig-headed with these types of cases. We believe Evan Stone has been known to say “Fuck Em” about any of the accused IP’s even if they are innocent.
IP’s are probably listed and they will begin trying to get approval from judges to send ISP subpoenas out to identify the names that are attached to the IP’s. Supposedly gained from people using torrents to download porn, TV shows and anime. Some more info can be found on pages linked on the right such as the EFF, subpoena defense, ISP Subpoena page etc. None of these cases of course will ever stop piracy as some may call it while others agree it is sharing. Copyright enforcement is impossible.
Firefox add ons such as MAFIAAfire Redirector add-on that redirects websites seized by the united states government show this (LOL). Even if these silly cases stop people from torrenting they will just use other methods such as newsgroups or file hosting sites like rapid share. FUNmation’s first case got thrown out by the judge overseeing that case. Hopefully that follows suit unlike some cases in Washington D.C. As always we post these rules as maybe some guidance. Take it anyway you wish. The Copyright Troll Lawyers and Companies pages have been updated.
RULE #1 DO NOT FEED THE TROLL OR THE COMPANIES
Rule #2 DO NOT CONTACT THE COMPANY TRYING TO SUE YOU OR SUBPOENA YOUR ISP
RULE #3 DO NOT MOTION TO QUASH AN ISP SUBPOENA WITH YOUR REAL NAME WITHOUT SEALING THE DOCUMENTS SO OTHERS CANNOT SEE YOUR MOTION TO QUASH AS THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT YOUR NAME.
