  1. Is there anyway to find out who originally made available on the bit torrent sites, the movie in question?

    • To our knowledge that would be hard to do unless two things happened.

      1. You used the torrent right when it was made to see who had 100% of the file to share. The original seeder as you will see their IP.

      2. You own the bittorent site and you log the IP of the person submitting the torrent and they release that IP.’

      Nice name by the way.

  2. Well a couple weeks ago I got another call from Mark Lutz trying to get me to settle. Seeing that his firm continues to file more frivolous cases, they will be eventually sending out more settlement letters and follow-up calls to new people. It is sad that so many people will cave into these guys. Funny how in the original letter there was a dead line date in which to settle. Before that date passes, calls are made to get people to settle. If that doesn’t work, more calls are with new and big lawyer words are made. This only shows that these guys are not interested in the truth, just the settlement money they can get. Of course I don’t want to end up in court, but the hell I’m going to let them extort money from me on a BS accusation. People – please heed the following advice – DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS. It only makes them want more.

  3. According to Slyck Mr. Collins is suing over Real Female Orgasms ten which I want to say is one he used back in late 2010. Not sure though.

I wonder if there is a good way to inform these judges, all of these judges, that it is possible to generate all of the IP addresses that will ever exist with a machine. I don’t think they understand that IP addresses are finite resources generated using specific mathematics. (Which I don’t get myself.) Within a few seconds I was able to generate real IP addresses that resolved to ATT. I was able to generate over eight thousand valid IP addresses in a second. Anyone who gets the right regular expression to match real IP addresses can do this. These lawyers do not even need to sit on torrents or bearshare or whatever. They can just programmatically generate their spreadsheets and take those to court. High school kids can do that. Hell even they could learn to do that much. Ruby, and Python make that kind of text processing a breeze.

The judge(s) will not know any different because those IP addresses will be real. These men and women need to be informed of how easy it is to generate “real” evidence in these kinds of cases. They should not be granting discovery based on this information alone. But during these hearings they only ever hear the quarter truth that an IP address identifies a machine on the internet.

At least a judge in DC is slapping around USCG noticing that their 23000+ IP’s probably are not all in D.C. vacating the previous order granting discovery. (And probably knowing or suspecting that this is all bullshit but unwilling to just say that.) We can only hope that Mr. Steele ends up with Judge Shadur hearing at least one of his cases again.

  4. How worried should I be if i got a letter from my ISP saying they will release my info in 20 days for case 3:11-cv-01738-MEJ? I live in SoCal? Should i get it quashed by a laywer?

  5. If i’m part of one of these cases and it was files in NorCal and i live in SoCal how worried should I be? What do you guys recommend I do?

    • It seems for some reason Motion To Quash are not always successful. Also they cannot prove anything with just an IP. Motion to quash if you can and want too but realize that may or not work. Just fight them in court and counter sue them for invasion of privacy down the line if need be. Just do not pay them as they cannot really prove anything. They are just betting on you being scared so you pay them easily. It does not protect you at all.

  6. i am in a Boy Racer Inc vs 1-52 John Does – Movie they are sueing over is Fuckabilly. They want 3400 to settle.

  7. Greetings anons. I am a lawyer in Cali and NY that has seen enough of these cases and wants to help. I’ve also written a bit about the trolls (http://torrentfreak.com/are-you-guilty-if-pirates-use-your-internet-lawyer-says-no-110806) and have begun accepting p2p defendants. A ton of the troll cases are being filed in my backyard, the Northern District of California. I might be very helpful if yours is one of them. ranallolawoffice.com.

This post probably constitutes lawyer advertising. You are now on notice.
